Sr. Elizondo and I went to Aktun Chen for their famous cave walk and to swim in an underground cenote. They also have a zip line, but we decided to pass on that. The visit was so worth it, especially since we went first thing in the morning and were one of five people total.
The caves were amazing. I tried to not let the bats freak me out too much. I also now know why helmets are so important while caving. I bumped my head into the ceiling more than once.
The cenote was beautiful with the light coming through the rock holes and lighting up the water like a flashlight.
They also have a few animals, and a lot of deer roaming freely.
(FYI: The hotels give their left over fruit to the park for the animals to eat. Unfortunately, the pandemic has caused the park to struggle with food.)
