Pan de Muerto

I’m embarrassed to say after living in Mexico for a few years, I had yet to try Pan de Muerto until today. Now I know what I’ve been missing. It’s sooo good.

It’s mostly made the month of October. On the Day of the Dead, Mexican people will put it on the graves of loved ones as an offering.

It looks like typical Mexican sweet bread, but the design on top is made to look like skeletal fingers. The secret ingredient that sets it apart is the use of Orange Flower Water. If you haven’t tried this bread, now is the time to do it.
