Let’s be honest, I’ve been thinking about what I will be wearing on this trip for at least a month. I’ve scoured Pinterest for trends and chic travel wardrobes to post and be admired by all. Now that the time is here to pack, none of my illusions of fashion grandeur will be happening. The reality is that it’s a vacation and I need to feel comfortable to enjoy the actual travel and countries. I’m not saying I’ll be dressing in sweats, but the fitted jackets and heels for evening are a no go.
Pinterest has tons of packing lists. After a few hours, I found a basic common thread for a two week european vacation. There’s a general number of tops, pants, outerwear that people recommend. Here’s the breakdown:
Clothes:
- 5 tops
- 2 cardigan/sweater
- 1 jacket (optional)
- 3 bottoms (pants/skirts/shorts)
- 3 dresses
- 3 shoes (sneaker, sandal, flat/heel)
Accessories:
- 2 scarves
- hat
- sunnies
- belt
- small purse
- big tote
**Since my vacation will be 18 days, I’m adding 2 more tops and 2 more dresses.
A color theme for the travel wardrobe is also a common recommendation. I agree this is a good idea. The more you can mix and match, the more outfits. Makes sense.
FYI: I checked online for international luggage guidelines. Airline fees for luggage that is over size or weight limit are astronomical! Seriously, we’re talking triple digits. New travel rule: ALWAYS check luggage guidelines before travel.
