DW Candles smell great and their scent actually fills the room. I originally found this candle at TJ Maxx, but you can purchase them online at dwhome.com. I´m loving the Fresh Cut Gardenia scent.
The video is worth a watch too. I like it a lot.
I can´t believe my Samantha Rose (aka: Sammers, SamSam, Crackhead) is 9 years old today.
It’s time to party in the park!
Layered rugs are trending now and the look helps give a room a finished look. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, its functional for:
Below are some popular rug combinations.
Jute rug + faux hide (or fur)
Two flat weave rugs
Plush solid (or large pattern) rug + Moroccan rug (or Turkish kilim)
I have a drinking problem. Not alcoholic, but healthful. Is it possible to get out of control with daily healthy drinks? I’m beginning to wonder and so is my sloshing stomach Here is my daily consumption:
Warm water with lemon OR Apple Cider Vinegar
Morning Smoothie (including a plethora of powders)
Green Tea (probably 2-3 cups)
Then later I have my daily bottle of homemade Kombucha
A bottle of Topo Chico (carbonated mineral water)
A cup of Matcha with almond milk
More tea throughout the late afternoon/evening
And I’m thinking of starting a late night cup of Golden Milk (Turmeric benefits)
and you’re finished.
My closet goal is to have quality, not quantity. For me to love and feel good in every item I have hanging in my closet. I think I have probably given away at least 4 trash bags of clothes, shoes, and jewelry. My thought process is most of my things are decent and if I’m not going to wear them, someone else should.
In my quest for a perfectly curated closet, I have begun the backward hanger trick. Here’s how it works: Once you have worn an item of clothing, return that item to your closet, placing the item’s hanger backwards. This lets you know this item has been worn and cannot be worn again until all other hangers are backwards too (ideally). This will get me wearing the clothes I never wear, or forget to wear, and get me out of the clothes I always wear. It will show me which items I always reach for and what items I never touch. Trashbag #5…maybe.
I have been doing this challenge for almost two weeks now and it’s working for me. I have been wearing clothes I never put on for whatever reason. It takes a little bit more time because I can’t just go for my fave jeans and blouses, but I’m wearing outfits I never knew I had.
In less than a month, I will be visiting Chiapas Mexico for a wedding. We are taking 5 days to see this beautiful part of Mexico bordering Guatemala. Everyone has told me the beauty there is unsurpassed. I cannot wait to see it for myself!
How sweet are these!
Adaptogens are a class of plants used for their healing abilities of balancing, restoring, and protecting your body as a whole. Adaptogens were granted their name because of their distinctive ability to ‘adapt’ their function according to your body’s needs. An adaptogen does not have a specific action, nor target a certain body region, rather it benefits the body as a whole, being able to respond to any influence or stressor that it needs to.
These rejuvenating plants improve and recharge the health of your adrenal glands, counteracting the harmful effects of stress. Cells are accessed more energy and the ability to eliminate toxic byproducts of the metabolic process to help the body use oxygen more efficiently. More cellular energy in combination with boosting the adrenal glands strengthens the body’s ability to cope with stress, anxiety, and fatigue – calming you down and boosting you up simultaneously.
While prescription drugs remain in your system and influence multiple organs, once an adaptogen has completed its job, those herbs are eliminated or absorbed into the body without any side effects. Adaptogens work slowly and gently, contrasting the instantaneous gratification of the caffeine cycle, you must be patient because they work subtly but the benefits are undeniable and long lasting.
Examples of Adaptogen herbs: Ashwagandha; Red Ginseng; Holy Basil; Rhodiola Rosea
